ECCO Welcomes WPR's
Marika Fischer Hoyt
ECCO hosts Marika Fischer Hoyt as Pre-concert Speaker on 6:45 pm on April 27, 2013.

ECCO is pleased to host WPR personality Marika Fischer Hoyt on April 27, 2013, where she will both present a pre-concert talk and emcee the ECCO Concert "Two Symphonies and a Double Concerto"
Marika Fischer Hoyt is the host of Wisconsin Public Radio’s Saturday and Sunday Afternoon Classics. In addition to her work with WPR, Marika is committed to a busy concert schedule as a professional violist. Specializing in both modern and baroque viola, Marika performs regularly with the Madison Symphony Orchestra, the Ancora String Quartet, the Madison Bach Musicians, the Wisconsin Baroque Ensemble, and the Bach Collegium of Fort Wayne, IN.
“I have a passion for Baroque music, and I look forward to sharing ideas about the Handel Concerto Grosso on this evening’s program. I know the Eau Claire audience will enjoy the elegance and charm of the Symphony No. 23 by Michael Haydn, and will fall in love, as I did long ago, with Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante. The evening’s, a Double Concerto, juxtaposes the silvery tones of the solo violin against the warm resonance of the solo viola. It has everything: lyrical tunes, virtuosic fireworks, and a passionate slow movement dialogue that reveals Mozart at his operatic best. I’m anticipating an evening of lively discussion and beautiful music.”
Save the date! You won't want to miss this wonderful evening with ECCO and Marika on Saturday, April 27, 2013! Please make plans to attend both the pre-concert presentation "Haydn, Handel and Mozart" at 6:45 pm and ECCO's final concert of the 2012-2013 season "Two Symphonies and a Double Concerto" at 7:30 pm, at the Christ Church Cathedral, corner of Lake St. and S. Farwell St.
